Regione Toscana, the Regional Authority of the region of Tuscany , is involved in the promotion of decentralized cooperation programs aimed at improving the healthcare sector in developing countries. Between 2008 and 2012 LAMA has assisted the Department of Healthcare of Regione Toscana in the management of partnerships related to international healthcare cooperation projects.
In these contexts, LAMA has managed the communication with international partners, as well as carrying out the monitoring and evaluation of the funded projects (around 40 per year). Together with ARCO, LAMA has also carried out research activities on the internal dynamics of the existing partnerships in order to improve their efficiency rate and transparency. Finally, LAMA has managed several field studies and research visits in the countries where Regione Toscana’s projects are implemented including Burkina Faso, Uganda and Albania.
